Testing at Cadwell Park

Yesterday ABS Racing made the trip to Cadwell Park for a test day and then racing in the New Era Honda Superclub Round 6 on the 27th.

After a dry Saturday the clouds opened on Cadwell Park for race day.  This was what ABS Racing had hoped as more wet weather experience was needed.  Alex Symon qualified a decent sixth place with a time of 1:57.29 which was not far off fellow British 250 riders Andrew Sawford and Ben Johnson.

Excited with the prospects of racing in the wet Alex really started to get to grips with the conditions during the race.  Starting steadily, ninth after lap one, he forced his way up to fourth place setting the second fastest time of the race with a 1:49.79.

However, a last lap slip up threatened to ruin a strong weekend as Alex failed to finish the race.  Fortunately there were no injuries sustained and there is plenty of time, before the next British 250 round, to fix any damage to the bike.

Overall Alex must be delighted to have made such excellent progress in the wet with a lap time faster than the race winner.  Not to mention achieving his aims of the weekend in a practice day in the dry and getting to grips with wet racing.
