Round Four Back to Action at Oulton Park

Today ABS Racing have made the trip up to Oulton Park to recommence activities in the British 250 Championship.  Since Alex Symon's last outing at Cadwell Park, of damaging consequences, the break has been well and truly needed to repair and prepare the bike for Oulton Park.  With the weather forecast unsettled Alex could be in for a lottery of a weekend on track.

Alex completed a strong race on Saturday by finishing in sixth place.  After an excellent start, climbing from eleventh up to sixth place, he unfortunately went wide onto the rumble strips.  This cost Alex Symon a couple of places but was understandable as the Oulton Park track had been modified since his only previous time out there on a 250, in 2001.

Building back up to speed after dropping back Alex was able to climb up to a promising sixth place setting a fastest lap time of  1:46.37.  Unfortunately the leaders had pulled too far ahead by then to mount a challenge.

Overall the race for Symon was a lonely one, especially considering his lap timer failed, being in sixth place from the fifth lap onwards.  Even so, valuable track time prevailed and the points are mounting up nicely come, what is nearly, half way through the season.

The next crucial round takes place at Castle Combe in two weeks at what  is a new track for Alex.  It  will certainly go a long way to shaking up the championship standings with the abandoned Silverstone race taking place as well.
